Excellent Boot-I am a 50+ urban dweller from Houston. I purchased these boots 6 weeks ago with the intent to use them exclusively for hiking/backpacking on my trips to Colorado. In preparation for a hiking trip, I began wearing the boots three to four days a week anywhere from 10 to 12 hours a day just to make sure there were no break-in or fit issues. To date, I have found these boots to be extraordinally comfortable with plenty of room in the toe box even after having worn them all day. The VIOZ has a what I can only describe as an easy and comfortable heel to toe motion when walking. After having spent the day hiking in the VIOZ, I noticed there was much less stress on my knees and ankles than in my Merrell Continuums that I use as my "go to" hiking shoe. I now find myself reaching the VIOZ as my boot of choice when taking extended walks or hikes. The quality, construction and workmanship of the boot is outstanding. The VIOZ could easily be used as an everday field boot. I have no doubt these boots will perform to my expectations when I hit the Colorado Trail this summer.

Great Boot-I bought these boots about four months ago and have been wearing them everyday since. I experienced a little longer break in time than I expected, but I have never gotten a blister in these boots. It just takes a while to get the leather to be flexible. I have hiked several times in these boots and they have been extremely comfortable, lightweight, supportive, and have great traction on rocks, and roots. I just did a 12 mile hike up a rugged 6000' mountain in Western North Carolina, and the boots performed flawlessly. The salesman talked me into buying Superfeet insoles to put in them and I finally got smart and threw the insoles in the garbage. The boots are much more comfortable without them. I liked the boots so much my wife got a pair also. Although I haven't had them very long, they seem to be pretty durable so far. Great Boot for anyone!

Excellent Craftmanship & Comfort-Truly magnificent hiking boot, excellent ankle support and sturdy construction. Not everyone needs a boot this good, but for us die-hard hikers & backpackers, nothing else comes close. For me, many boots have gone by the wayside because of poor construction - and guess what they all have in common . . . yep, Made in China. Vasque, Merrel, Timberland & even Patagonia boots I've owned have started coming unsewn & unglued in less than 1-2 years which, in my opinion, is unacceptable for such a critical piece of equipment in the back country. Thank you Zamberlan, sincerely, for honoring the Italian tradition of pride in workmanship by continuing to produce such high quality products. Many other boot manufacturers are now making their boots in China which indicates their primary concern is profit. The Baffin boots are yet another prime example that Zamberlan places the serious outdoor hiker/backpacker/enthusiast as a higher priority than profit alone. PLEASE, don't ever stop making your high-end products in Italy. With me, you have a customer for life!

Well Done Zamberlan!-After taking the time to break in my new boots, I went hiking in the Grampians National Park. Very comfortable and great to walk in, this is my second pair of Zamberlans- after wearing out the soles of my last pair.(I still have them and will get them resoled). The Voiz GT have handled the rocky terrain of the Grampians with ease and would recommend them to anyone undertaking day hikes.

Best boot I've ever worn, period!- My first pair lasted about 2 years and the leather split just before where the toe rubber meets the sole...I'm very hard on boots. I live in Alaska and have put these boots though A LOT. Haven't had a repeat problem with the second pair, and I actually still wear the first, split, pair every day. Can't say enough. To say they fit like a glove doesn't begin to describe them! Great traction and support also.

Excellent Hiking Boots - I just bought these boots this spring and took them on the west coast trail. I couldn't ask for a better boot. They offered great stability and feel on uneven terrain, even with a heavy pack. My feet stayed dry regardless of the condidtions. I can't wait to wear these hunting in the mountains this fall. Judging by the quality of construction I know they will serve me well for many years, and that makes the price a non-issue. Another bonus - they come in wide width.
The business of manufacturing quality mountain boots was started back in 1929 by Giuseppe Zamberlan, the father of our present Chairman, Emilio. "Bepi"(short for Giuseppe) was making boots for others who recognized his craftsmanship. His passion for trekking and his initial success, led him to search for better materials and more efficient construction methods to satisfy his quest for “safer and easier” movement in the mountains. Still today, the factory is located right at the foot of the Piccole Dolomiti, the ideal environment for testing new products.
As was the case with his father, Emilio has worked in close partnership with his family. From the beginning his wife has always assisted him in the running of the business, and now his son Marco and daughter Maria are both involved in the general management of Calzaturificio Zamberlan. So the Zamberlan Company – after more than 70 years of boot manufacturing, is still a family run business, with the third generation actively taking part in all stages of design and production. Recently the production facility has been further developed and enlarged, to allow a better working environment and new machinery have again been put in place, to grant the highest standard of quality consistency.
