Lasting Comfort - I have owned these boots for 13 years and they don't make them any better. Made in Italy, the construction has lasted as well as the fit. I've hiked in them through the Himalayas, Andes, Patagonia and several US mountain ranges with packs of varying weight and I can't seem to wear them out. I now use them on day hikes when my pack is filled with one my twins!

Awesome boots! - I have a Flinstone foot, it's really wide and I've tried other boots and gotten blisters on my little toe, but not in these. I did get blisters on my heels, but I expected that. They do creak a bit, but I don't care at all, these are by far the best boots I've ever owned. I had them for about two years now and have beat on them and they're still goin' strong!

Good Boots! - These are great boots. The only reason I can't wear them anymore is that I had children & my feet changed. Other than that, they're great boots.

Very comfortable! - I have owned other boots before finding these. Perfect fit!! I am a hard fit, narrow heels and foot but wide in the toes. Zamberlan is the only boot I've found that fits so well.

Great fit and last forever - I have owned this boot (or actually an earlier version of this boot) for 9 years! I have other boots, but this brand fits me so well. I have long narrow feet, and I have never had a better fit! Therefore minimal blisters on long wet hikes...Try them, they might be THE boot for you!

Quite possibly, MIRACLE BOOTS! - I am on my third pair of Zamberlan Civettas. Not because they ever wore out, but because the first pair got too small when I was pregnant and went up a size, and I lost the right half of the second pair on a road trip earlier this summer.So, I can verify three times over that you can take these boots on a major hike when they're brand new and come away with nary a blister.I first selected these boots because they fit snugly over the top of my arch--and didn't give while I was walking down a hill. I had a bad experience once with some light urban hiking boots on a major hike--and got bruised nasty toes when my toes kept hitting the bottom of the boots on the downhill. So I made sure I got nice stiff boots with good arch support but a somewhat flat top. The Zamberlans looked flattest on top and indeed provided the best "toes-stay-put" effect.First experience: Thanksgiving weekend in Big Sur in 1998, a hike to Sykes Hot Springs in the Ventana Wilderness. They were BRAND NEW [...]and I hiked the 11-mile trek in 2 days, which is magically charming (sparkles up in the sky through the lacy oaken canopy called stars, sparkles in the ground underfoot called glow worms, fading sunlight making the sky and the mountains glow pink, rising moonlight making the mountains glow glowy, and up, and down, and up, and down, and up, and down, and an owl hooting and whooshing away with its big wings, and up and down and then some. And then some. And thigh-deep through rushing creeks with boots and backpack on.These boots got me through this hike happy, elated, comfortable, springy-legged and feeling supported and amazingly dry. I realized after the 2nd day of the hike that they had dried out--right after the creek wade when they got inundated--within 1 hour, entirely on their own. I didn't even stop to take them off. Actually my feet felt dry within 15 minutes. The gore-tex lining and the way they're built can't be beat. I was at least smart enough to wear sock liners (thinking they might hurt on the first trip) but the overall effect was simply stunning. I was amazed that when I reached my destination, my feet were dry, my inner socks were dry, my wool socks were barely damp and the inside of the boots were dry. Notable experience number 2:While I was pregnant my feet grew a whole size so I had to get a new pair. Once again, no blisters, no complaints, no nothing. Just perfect, still, despite having bigger, wider feet. In fact, I had to wear them every day toward the end of the pregnancy because it kept me out of the hospital--they kept my ankles from swelling, kept my blood pressure down and kept the whole body in better balance. It's entirely possible to claim that these boots "cured" me from preeclampsia. (fancy word for high blood pressure during pregnancy.)The one thing I will say to their *possible* negative is that they're better for the backcountry than for lounging around the house...(duh, they are *boots*, right?) At times they can feel somewhat stiff. But the overall effect is wonderful--they make my whole body feel supported when I'm in the wilderness and they keep me from having any back, knee, shoulder and neck pains. Is that weird? I suppose it isn't if you consider how your feet and stride have so much to do with overall posture.Last weekend we went for a short hike (3 easy miles) to Olympic Hot Springs, and alas, I went in flip flops because I hadn't yet gotten another pair of boots yet after losing one boot earlier in the summer. I was aching, tired and practically nauseous at the end of the hike. I had to stop several times on the way back down. Besides to pick huckleberries--I just had to give my knees a rest. They felt like they were going to break or give in. And I hadn't even carried a pack. Well--just an energetic 2.5 year old partway, but he's much lighter--if not more cooperative--than a pack.Now this weekend we're going to Banff and Lake Louise. My husband promises it's really, really worth the long drive from Seattle. [...] I can't wait to break in my third new pair of Zamberlans on some beautiful hikes in the Canadian Rockies. Once again, I've brought sock liners, just in case, but I doubt they'll be necessary. :)If New Zamberlans are a harbinger of the magic of the journey, then this one is going to be simply, stunningly, magically magical. :)I can't WAIT until morning!

Superdooper! -I have worn Zamberlan's for about 7 years. I have tried other boots when I couldn't find Zamberlans but have never found a boot like the Civettas that I can take out of the box and hit the high country the same day. I have never had to "break in" Zamberlan's. Zamberlan boots are the best things going with leather like butter and craftmanship of the highest caliber! They are rugged and hold up under the rough conditions I put them through. Can you tell I love them??

These boots have been fantastic! -I have been hiking and backpacking in these boots for over 7 years. They were comfortable from day 1 and they helped resolve my tendency to get sore heals when backpacking. Also, they've given me confidence when hiking with a pack, off trail or on uneven terrain. I'm ordering a new pair for backpacking today and turning my still-servicable 1st pair into my "day" hiking boots. I HIGHLY recommend these boots!!
