The Best Backpackers- These boots are the best if you are looking for something durable that will last a long time, stand up to a beating, and perform in all conditions. I never take these boots for a day hike, but whenever I go off-trail or in the snow, these boots out-perform anything else. The shank allows you to cut up super-steep slopes and not have worn-out feet at the end of the day. I have strapped on crampons to go up Rainier, Hood, and several other mts. in Utah. Very water-proof, you can stand in water and not get your feet wet. They are heavy and not very comfortable, but I wouldn't trade the durability and strength of these shoes for a 'cushy, comfortable' shoe - because what I'm doing is not 'cushy and comfortable'. At the end of the day my feet still feel fine and not sore.

Great Boot!- These boots are built really solid and were very comfortable right out of the box. They feel like they were custom made for my feet. They're a little loose around the ankle, but will only fit better with time.

Best Boot I've Ever Owned- I bought these boots several years back and have worn them regularly for just about every kind of activity. Fishing, hiking, snow shoeing, long days walking in the city, working (awesome work boot), you name it. They've been beaten on, painted on, kept my feet dry standing in trout streams and warm snow banks. Great ankle support for hiking in rough terrain. After all the abuse they're looking pretty rough around the edges but are still as comfortable and ruggedly reliable as the day I bought them (I still wear them several days a week). The rubber toe cover has come slightly loose (maybe too close to a campfire, dunno) but it hasn't affected anything other than their appearance. I will definitely be replacing this boot with another pair!

buying second pair- I live in these boots, during the week the all-leather upper protects my feet in the welding shop and machine shop, on weekends they comfortably devour 20 mile days of manhattan streets, or new hampshire icy mud with a 2-3 day backpack. They were my only footwear for a month working in east africa, with wicking socks they were fine in the heat. I've had other boots I loved (ie Vasques) but these are hands down the best, I'm replacing them with an identical pair. The thin rubber strip near the toe came loose at the egde when I waterproofed them with silicone, it looks bad and catches dirt but hasn't caused any further problem.

The very best!- I photograph with large format 4" x 5" equipment, and carry that heavy load in my huge Gregory backpack in addition to all the backpacking gear, clothes, food and fuel. These boots give me excellent foot and ankle support, especially on rocky terrain where you can easily sprain your ankle. I wear them with heavy backpacking wool socks and they keep me warm even when snowshoeing. They require a break-in period, when the full grain leather is stiff to mold, so wear gloves in tying the laces lest you blister your fingers from pulling the laces. But once broken in they fit you perfectly and can be adjusted in many ways by the tightness of the laces around the toes, ankles and top. I even wear orthotics under the insoles and they fit like they were molded to your feet. I don't know when I'll wear these out, since I don't see much wear in the bottom of the soles. They also withstand a lot of dirt and don't need much maintenance - just a mild brush with water.

Awesome boot!- I bought these boots 4 years ago and have used them for summer hiking to winter snowshoeing. Put on a thick pair of Smartwools and you are ready for the cold. They have great traction, great support and are very waterproof.

Serious boots for serious hiking!- The Civetta is a more serious piece of footwear when compared to it's competion. From the moment I put them on for the first time I could feel it. The Civetta is a much stiffer boot which means it offers more support and stability. As with any heavy duty boot, they require a break-in period that is specific to the comfort standards of the wearer. I will say that once they are broken in they are fantastic. This is my second pair of Zamberlan boots. My first pair lasted for eight years of weekly use. I expect the Civetta will be no Different. A great boot for serious hikers, at any price.

Best boot I've owned !- Purchased this boot for hunting, wear it almost every day (summer or winter). Excellent support and comfort, this is surely the best boot I've had on my feet.

Happy Customer!- My twin brother and I have been very happy with our Zamberlan Civetta GT RR boots. He just purchased his third pair and I my second pair. We work and backpack in them and are very pleased with their traction and comfort. Another aspect that we like about these boots is that they fit us width-wise. With our wide feet it is hard to find wide enough boots and shoes. Thanks, we are happy return customers.

Excellent all-round boot!- Good construction and easy to break in. The vibram sole provides excellent traction. Keeps your feet warm in cold weather. Rubber band around toe section tends to separate from the leather after much use.

boots- The fit, support and quality of the civetta gt is excellent

Highly Recommended!- This is my 4th pair of these boots. My only complaint is that Recriationl Equipment Co-op quit carring this model of boot. I use these boot for general mountineering , Back packing and daily wear as they are the only shoe/ boots I have found that releive my back pain. I have had each pair resold at least once except for the latest pair. When this boot is no longer being made I do not know what I will do. Don't stop

3rd pair- Superb boot!- This is the third pair of CIVETTA boots I have owned. The first (2) pairs each lasted about 4 years. As I have wide feet; both prior pairs began to develop splits on the outer seem at the widest part of the foot. They are the most comfortable boot I have ever worn and I wear them daily for work, all year round. I also wear them backpacking, hunting and walking around the town in. In my opinion, there is no better boot made. Keep up the great work Zamberlan!

Just OK!- Not really impressed by 631's. For the first few months did great moderate hiking. Then the real test 1 week Chukar hunting eastern Oregon last fall. 1st two days perfect. Then blistered heels and toes. I'm going to try different inserts. But I'm a little gun shy about wearing for extended periods of time.

Have yet to be disappointed!- This is a great boot. Good fit, good support and great traction. Only problem was that first pair split at the rubber toe cover where it meets the sole. Fortunately Zamberlan took care of it with a great discount to allow me to replace them. Don't ever see me buying anything else!

Best boots ever!- I've taken these boots backpacking and hiking all over the Wind River Range in Wy, the Cascades in Wa and the canyonlands of the Southwest. No blisters. Stiff enough to be happy carrying a pack, but still really comfortable. I recently bought my second pair, although the first pair held up very well. And my husband bought a pair after I liked mine so much. He thinks they're great boots too. We highly recommend them.

Fantastic boot!- The first time I wore the 631 Civetta GT RRs was up Mt. Si, a local hike near Seattle that is 8 miles round trip and about 1200 feet of elevation gain/mile with my daughter in a bacpack weighing 45 pounds. The boots performed wonderfully. Traction was more than I could ask for on mud, wet roots and rock on the trail. No blisters or lost toenails that result from a poor fit in the toebox. Breathability was good for the weight/construction of the shoe and repels water which is a must here in Western Washington. They would make a great light mountaineering boot as well. The sizing runs true if you follow their guidelines for a correct fit. I would purchase these again and recommend them to friends. Pay the money to keep the feet happy!;)

Civetta GT- Recommend!- This is my second pair of the Civetta. They are a great fitting boat and VERY comfortable right out of the box. Extremely waterproof while elk hunting in the snow. I only have 2 comments. 1. I wish I could buy them in a store. The first online pair did not fit. 2. The soles could be a bit thicker. I wore a hole in the middle of my first pair and thus needed to buy new ones. Other than that, I think they make a great boot.

Have yet to be disappointed!- Many years ago I purchased my first pair of Zamberlan Civetta hiking boots. At that time I had no idea Zamberlan boots and I would have such a long-term relationship. Zamberlan boots have been my partner on many adventures. After years of use, my second pair of Civetta boots finally wore out. Without hesitation I just ordered my third pair of Civettas. I'm a tough customer when it comes to finding a pair of boots that perform well under difficult conditions and are comfortable on my feet. In both regards my Civetta hiking boots have never let me down. I wear my Civettas under a wide range of conditions (desert to rainforest) and have yet to be disappointed. These boots last for years even under tough conditions. I look forward to the arrival of my next pair of Civettas just to see where they will carry me!

Top Quality!- This will be my third pair of Civetta's field boot. I work outdoors all day in some harsh conditions and never worry about wet feet. The pair I just retired took a real beating but still kept my feet dry. The soles give great stable traction. I hope that this boot model is still around for my next purchase years from now. Keep up the great work Zamberlan!

Best boots ever! - This is my second pair of Civettas. They are by far the best hiking boot ever. They were comfortable from the very first hike. They are the only boot I can wear without either hitting my big toe or being to large.

2nd pair-Incredible boot!!! - This is essentially the second pair of these boots I have owned. The first pair I bought at REI over ten years ago. The were very comfortable and I wore them everywhere, summer and winter.
I have now owned these boots a month or so and worn them in snow, rain and muddy conditions and my feet have stayed warm and dry and the comfort is second to none. They are great for backpacking, hunting or just knocking around in, for me there is no better boot made! Thanks for a great product!

Civetta-Great Boots! - I love the Civetta boots. They needed practically no break in time and they fit my large, wide feet very well. Very comfortable and dry boots! I would love to see them carried in retail stores so I can try on sizes instead of hoping to get the correct ones online.

Excellent Field Boot - I have owned a pair of these boots for four years. I work professionally as a field geologist/mapper in the Great Basin region of the U.S. I wear them 10 hours a day, 5 to 6 days a week hiking over virgin rugged terrain, not on trail. I have found them to be rock solid in conditions ranging from dry, hot and dusty to wet and muddy to snow. They have performed way beyond my expectations. I have them in the shop now to be re-soled, hopefully for another four years of hard work.
