Nice Gift!- I went out on the line and ordered a pair for a birthday gift for my husband just based on others recommendations. He was very pleased with them and they were a perfect fit (I had read that they run a half size small).

Best Hiking Boots I've Ever Owned- I purchesed a new pair of these boots after wearing out the first pair. The sole delaminated on the left boot after a summer of terracing a very steep hillside for a small vineyard. I used the boots when bush flying in the Arctic (always wet) to walking the dog at home on the KVR. The new pair felt a little tight when I bought them but I thought they would stretch with use. That did not happen and after a day in the bush cutting five truck loads of firewood I could hardly walk to the house when I got home. I bought a dual shoe stretcher and that has helped but they are not perfect yet. In the mean time, using acetone, I cleaned the dust out of the delaminated sole of the original pair and used PL Premium to stick it back on. It has worked very well and I am using the old boots until the new ones stretch. Bottom line: Make sure they fit well before buying and you will have one heck of a pair of boots that will serve you well in a variety of activities and work environments.

Best Hiking Boots I've Ever Owned- These boots are the best all-round I've ever owned. I put them through hell in constantly wet environments, varied terrain & loads but all demanding (note, only backcountry no technical mountain climbing here). Having tried many other brands, these have lasted the longest. Over the years I've purchased 4 pairs and hope these are never discontinued or I might have to stock up.

Best boots I have owned!- Great boots for hiking, backpacking and canoe tripping. Very comfortable. Even when the outside leather is soaked, your feet stay dry. They also look as good as they feel.

Good value-Being a heavy hiker I found that the support was exellent on moderate rolling terrain. I found them quite comfortable out of the box. The traction in wet mud and sand was exceptional keeping my feet dry all day. On hot days they would breath quite nicely keeping me comfortable

Excellent boots!-These were comfortable right from the get-go - I broke them in on a really long (12hr) hike and was still comfortable and blister-free by the end. Great in wet conditions, too - you can hike through mud/standing water for hours and they'll keep your feet dry (unless the water goes over the top, of course). A bit expensive, but worth every penny.

Love the boots but insoles slip- This is my second pair of Zamberlans, and I love the support, look and protection of these boots. They fit perfectly, except for one slight problem: after about a month of wearing them, the insoles began to slide half and inch or so backward up the heel, leaving a gap by my toes and making the fit feel "off" since the arch is in the wrong place. I will try getting some replacement insoles to see if it fixes the problem. I have not had this issue with other boots, and it's not a sizing issue since I couldn't go any larger or smaller. Nonetheless, I would highly recommend the boots .

Fantastic boots- saved my feet!- I cannot say how impressed by these boots I am. I needed a pair of sturdy boots to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru, and waited way too long to have any break-in time. I put these boots on for the first time at the trail head and marched all the way there (25 miles) without even a blister or a hot spot. Wow. And they're waterproof and beautiful too. Many thanks!

Beautiful Italian Craftmanship!- Beautiful Italian craftsmanship - These boots are one piece leather with beautiful Italian Craftsmanship. Relatively light weight for their construction. The boots fit nice and are comfortable, they fit like a glove right from the start. If given the choice always opt for Italian boots/shoes (such as ASOLO, La Sportiva, Zamberlan, One Sport, Scarpa, even some Lowa's are Slovakian) better than the Chinese boots. The soles are made of a very nice soft rubber. They are VIBRAM soles. I learned from my Zamberlan literature that is named after Vitale Brimati who was old man Zamberlans buddy. If you ever need to resole these shoes you are out of luck. From experience I have learned that there is no cobbler that I could find that will put a very nice soft shock absorbing Vibram sole on boots. You will get a very hard plastic sole and the shoe will no longer absorb shock and be no good for hiking. You can use them for digging in the garden from then on. So try not to walk on the concrete or black top with these boots, save them for the trail.

You won't be disappointed!- Trek Lite GT - As good as it gets! I shopped hard for great hiking boots. I wanted one-piece leather uppers & the highest quality construction and materials. These boots from Zamberlan have it all - and then some! They are a real bargain in the $210 - $225 range. They could easily be $300+ and, at that price, would still be a fair value. The boots definitely need a break-in period but I didn't experience a blister or hot spot, even during the first ten miles. Now, after one month and about 70 miles they feel like they are molded to my feet as an integral part of my body. There are two things I would suggest. First, buy a pair of Superfeet inserts. I would suggest the green variety. Second, do not apply oil based waterproofing or conditioning products. They will soften the leather and ruin the wonderful support provided by the leather uppers. If waterproofing is desired use Sno-Seal. It is a beeswax based compound (no kidding) and does a superior job of waterproofing without softening the leather. The application of Sno-Seal is interesting. You heat the boots to about 120 degrees F and then apply the Sno-Seal. The leather will absorb the wax into its pores as it is heated. You'll need to repeat the warming and application process until the leather will not absorb any more wax. At this point the boots have the most effective waterproofing I’ve ever seen. The waterproofing will last for about three months. Here's a heads-up for those worried about appearance - this waterproofing will darken the leather! If that bothers you - don't do it! The bottom line is BUY THESE BOOTS - you won't be disappointed!

A notch above the rest !- I recently purchased my second pair of 994's. Though my size was not readily available Zamberlan went way beyond the normal customer service to make sure I got my size. This new pair has all the quality of my old pair. The uniform quality of the leather is excellent. The stitching and all the hand work shows someone cared about making these boots. I can't rave enough about the fit. Within minutes these boots felt like they were attached to my feet. I spend every working day in quality work boots but these 994's just feel a notch better. I would definitely give this boot a 5 star rating.

6616 km, 8,819,128 steps, 4 pairs of Trek Lites !- My name is Trevor and I have put your boots to the test as I crossed all sorts of terrain on my journey through Canada and the width of North America. Coast to coast.
Your boots withstood some of the greatest strain imaginable.
One of my better examples is a trip up the Coquihalla highway in British Columbia. I was walking with a trailer full of supplies weighing over 500 lbs. It took me 5 hours to go 5 kilometers at one section leading up to the summit. Pulling and pushing, I was strong enough to make it and my Zamberlan's were there, on the bottom of my feet, taking the full weight of this punishment.
I replaced the boot only when I wore down the sole and that didn't happen too quickly; with and average of over 1600 kilometers per pair. Over a million impacts per boot.
I walked into a Mountain Equipment Co-op in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I got a chuckle when a store clerk asked me if he could help. The only thing I would say was Zamberlan Trek Lite size 10. He looked at me funny and asked, would you like to try them on ? I would only say Zamberlan Trek Lite size 10.   When he came back I explained to him what I was doing and why I trusted these boots. I showed him my boots I had worn and we both agreed that they were still in very good shape. He suggested a place where I could get them resoled. I looked at him like he was CRAZY...
Many people ask me about the boots I wore and how many I went through. Zamberlan Trek Lite size 10  I say with a smile and I have kept every boot, even the ones I trained in. People want to know and I want to show. Original soles and all. www.thereandbackcanada.com
